Do you know why I love having a foodie instagram account? Because I get to follow a bunch of people that love food and stumble upon many recommendations such as this one. Yes, I found out about Takumi BBQ & Ramen through someone’s post, saved it and a few weeks later, decided to give them a try. Here is my Takumi BBQ & Ramen Review.
Takumi BBQ is a restaurant serving authentic Japanese BBQ located in Mississauga. They opened not too long ago in October 2020 and unfortunately due to COVID restrictions in Peel, have not been able to host indoor dining. What attracted me to their food was this instagram post by @millennial.taking.foodpics bento box order. Also, they are currently offering 30% off pick up orders.
Their takeout menu consists of ramen, appetizers such as edmame, takoyaki, maki roll, poke bowl and of course what I came for, their bento box. We ended up ordering 2 marinade beef short rib for $16.98 each. Each bento box came with rice, miso soup, corn, enoki mushroom, kimchi, and pop. You also get a choice between spicy cabbage coleslaw or house salad. We chose the spicy coleslaw.
The quantity of food you get with a drink for the price is the best deal I’ve seen so far. When I do get bento boxes from other restaurants, it’s usually $17+ and it doesn’t come with a drink. Because this order was pick up, we got an additional 30% off. Such a good deal!
All this discount and price wouldn’t matter if the food is not good. Well let me tell you, the food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Top quality. Everything was so flavorful and complimented each other so well. I am looking forward to indoor dining opening up and being able to experience authentic japanese bbq.
If you don’t know, I’ve lived my whole life on the east end. Now that I live on the west end, I’ve been really enjoying discovering new eats in the area such as this Takumi BBQ & Ramen Review.
