Lets be honest, this is a journey and every journey has it’s challenges. For those that have been following, in the beginning of 2021 I decided to embark on a healthy eating journey. I used my blog as a platform to document my journey. The last few weeks I stopped posting about my journey on my blog all together for a few reasons. For one, I got married! If you follow me on instagram, you would know I got married April 17th. I also have a recent post about my bridal shower. But the main reason I stopped posting about my journey is because I fell off. Hard. So I’m starting over. Let me explain.
The main reason I fell off mainly revolves around COVID and stress. I live in Ontario and we are currently in our third lockdown. Leading up to this lockdown plus planning a wedding was the most stressful experience of my life. Restrictions kept changing constantly weekly leading up to my wedding. For those that have been on a healthy eating journey, you would know that it starts mentally first and filters to everything you do. These last few months, I was not mentally there. I was stressed, I stopped working out completely, and yes I fell off. for the past 5 years I’ve been pretty consistence with working out and having somewhat of a balance diet, this is the longest stretch I’ve done without any physical exercise.
Now that my wedding is done with, and I’ve gotten back to normal life schedule, I am ready to get back on this journey. This post is for those that may also be on that same journey. It’s ok to fall off sometimes because life is unpredictable and life happens. But never give up. I am excited to get back on this journey. I started working out again 5 days a week. The nice weather has also allowed me to enjoy evening walks and weekend hikes. I’ve also adjusted my diet again to reduce carbs, meat, and the total amount of calories I consume a day. Remember we’re achieving balance, meaning I allow cheat meals on weekends.
