Lately I’ve seen mochi everywhere. Mochi ice cream, mochi donuts, there’s even mochi pancakes. A few months ago I made a post about this mochi obsession. If you want to know a bit about mochi, you should read that post. Since then, I have been eager to try different variations of it. When I heard of soo.mochii offering mochi cookies, I had to give it a try. Below is my full review of mochi cookies Toronto.
Mochi cookies sound exactly like what it is: cookies stuffed with mochi. When soo.mochii reached out and offered me some mochi cookies, I ordered right away. Soo.mochi is a small batch bakery, made to order specializing in mochi cookies. They currently offer 10 different flavors with specials making appearances here and there. Orders are made per box ($12) containing 6 cookies. The ordering process is pretty easy; through their Instagram page you fill out an order form and pick one of the 3 pick up locations. I ordered 2 boxes as I wanted to try 2 different flavors: milk tea and Ube.
Milk tea in cookie form is a first for me so I had to give it a try. Ube on the other hand, I had no clue what it was but it’s purple so I had to give it a try. My first impression was an unexpected texture reaction to eating a cookie with mochi in it. A different combination that I was not use to. Out of the two, I enjoyed the flavor of ube over milk tea. The key to these cookies is to enjoy them within 48hrs of purchasing. After that, the mochi inside the cookies become hard and you won’t enjoy that chewy texture.
Would I order mochi cookies again? Probably. I would love to try different varieties. Would also recommend soo.mochii for your mochi cookies toronto destination. My next item on my mochi to try list is definitely mochi donuts. Feel free to follow me @foodiie.diary on Instagram for more food adventures!
