As you may know, in the beginning of this year, I started a “New year new me… kind of” challenge, focusing on a new balanced eating journey. So when Plainly Good reached out to try their unsweetened low carb cereal product, I was super excited. I love trying out new healthy alternatives.
Plainly Good is Canadian made currently selling low carb cereal that’s keto and paleo friendly, perfect for a healthy lifestyle. At just $16.99, the porridge mix comes in one of three flavours: unflavoured, intense cocoa, and creamy peanut. I picked creamy peanut as it reminded me of when I add peanut butter to my morning oats.
It’s quite simple to make, you add your choice of milk, add a few tablespoons of the dry mix, stir together, microwave for 30 sec, let sit for a few minutes, and enjoy! That simple. The mixture might look runny at first but it’s important to let it sit. The mix contains chia seeds which is a superfood. If you know a thing or two about chia seeds is, it takes time for it to soak in the liquid and expand.
These are unsweetened mix, no added sugar. If you have a sweet tooth like me, it may be really unsweet for your taste buds. You can make a slow transition by adding a sweetener like honey, vanilla extract, or dress it up with some bananas for a more natural sweetener.
Plainly Good is a great low carb cereal to for your breakfast or snack. Great food option to compliment your healthy eating lifestyle or journey. Feel free to follow me @foodiie.diary on Instagram for more food adventures!
