When I’m looking for a brunch spot, I look for a nice range of menu items, as well as a spot that’s aesthetically pleasing. MIA Brunch Bar has just that!
I went out to brunch for the first time in months with some friend’s at MIA Brunch Bar’s newly built backyard patio. It was right under the shade with a nice wooden backyard.
Brunch is served Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 3pm, and they do offer an evening menu Friday and Saturday nights only from 5pm to 11pm.
I wanted to try something a little different. My typical brunch is usually an eggs Benedict, or an all american breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast and fruits. I wanted to go a little out of my comfort zone and try something new. I decided to try the French Smoked Salmon Omelette; avocado, smoked salmon, asparagus, dill cream cheese, chives, with a side of salad and a slice of brioche bread. This came at $19 which was a little much. The entirety of the meal was soft and subtle as in, it didn’t leave you crazy full at the end. Just enough food. The combination of all the ingredients wrapped within the omelette blended really well together. I could of done without the asparagus. I also wish that they gave 2 slices of bread instead of one.
I also tried my friend’s Crunchy French Toast; cornflake crusted, cinnamon, maple cream chantilly, fresh berries, creme anglaise. If you’re looking for a sweet brunch, this is definitely it. I loved the uniqueness and the presentation of this dish. Would definitely order this next time.
Some other things on the table were pancakes, chicken and waffle, and portebello mushroom burger.
For beverages they have both warm and cold, alcoholic and non alcoholic options. A classic mimosa, the ideal brunch drink or a nice little shot of cafe macchiato.
Overall this spot gets me seal of approval. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the other meals on the menu.
